Gardening with discernment

Gardening involves several key aspects such as watering, fertilization, soil pH, pruning, and plant selection.

For optimal plant growth, the ideal soil pH range is between 6.0 and 7.0, which is slightly acidic to neutral. At levels above 7.5, iron, manganese, and zinc can become locked up.

Measure the pH before planting and before fertilizing, using an inexpensive digital meter.
